I cannot stress enough how wonderful and therapeutic it feels when I take time to be creative, whether it’s painting or sketching, or using Polyvore or Photoshop. Recently, a friend of mine told me how I had inspired her to be creative and make art. I find inspiration all around me, and I encourage everyone to take time and try to do the same. As I’m putting more time and attention into my own art collection, I decided to share some of my favorite artists and fashion illustrators that inspire me.
@dallasshaw
Probably my favorite artist/fashion illustrator that I’ve stumbled upon in a very very long time. Her aesthetic and style is something that is very similar to my own. Plus she has taken her artistic ability and built a brand in the fashion industry. She makes everything seem so easy and effortless and she finds beauty in so many things. I love her fashion sense, her passion and drive, and her many abilities. She is definitely a #girlboss.
@leighviner
I purchased some of her prints on Easy before I started following her on Instagram. Her semi-abstract style is truly amazing and her photography is just as beautiful too. Visit her Easy shop here.
@theaestate
The variety here is wonderful and delightfully quirky. From lips to palm tree leaves to donuts, her watercolor work is creative and worthy of a crisp white frame. You can shop her art here.
@jessillustrator
I remember seeing Jess’s work somewhere (tumblr, maybe?) and was thrilled to finally find her name and her Instagram. Her way with watercolor is truly breathtaking and her art is just so fluid (literally). She is having a flash sale, so shop her site here.
@elle_wills
I’ve followed Elle on Instagram for a while now and she just keeps getting better. She is absolutely incredible with colored pencils but has also experimented with acrylics, gold leaf, watercolors, and works with them beautifully. She’s gorgeous and I love how imaginative she is, and of course her realistic pieces are breathtaking. You can shop some of her pieces here.
